Wellness

Wellness is the quiet industry of Bamboo Cottages. Not the spa-menu kind, though we have massages that ruin other massages, but the older kind: the daily accumulation of good sleep, real food, sea water, sunlight and unhurried hours.

The week arranges itself. Mornings offer yoga, tai chi or a barefoot run on the flat sand. Middays are for shade, treatments and naps that feel medically justified. Afternoons can hold a massage under the palms, an art session, a coaching walk or simply a long swim. Evenings close with gentle practice, good food and early beds.

Our therapists rotate through the season, bringing deep tissue, traditional Vietnamese massage, and healing treatments that guests describe in the guestbook with suspicious amounts of gratitude. The steam of the herbal sauna smells of lemongrass and eucalyptus from the garden.

Nothing is compulsory and everything is available. Some guests book a treatment every day; others spend the week swimming and reading and call it the healthiest holiday of their lives. Both are right. Wellness here is not a purchase. It is a climate, and you have already arrived in it.
