Workshops
Through the season, Bamboo Cottages opens its garden and its shade canopies to a rolling series of workshops, small, hands-on, and taught by people who genuinely love their craft. Sizes stay intimate: eight to twelve participants, so every question gets asked and every hand gets guided.
The calendar changes with the visiting teachers. Regular favorites include Vietnamese cooking, from market basket to clay pot; watercolor seascapes for people who swear they cannot draw; photography walks that end with the golden hour doing most of the work; bread and sourdough mornings in the wood oven; and seasonal specials from tie-dye to tai chi intensives.
Workshops run two to four hours, materials included, and end the way everything here ends, with tea, fruit and comparing each other's results on the terrace. Many guests plan their stay around the workshop calendar; others discover one by smelling bread and wandering over.
If you teach something beautiful and peaceful, write to us: the beach is a gifted classroom and we are always listening for new crafts. If you are a guest, check the board by breakfast. The best souvenirs from this island are skills.
